H.D.G A.C Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada (1896–1977) is the Founder-Acharya of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) and a pure devotee of Lord Krishna. Born on 1st September 1896 in Kolkata, India, he is a disciple of Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Thakura, who instructed him to preach Krishna consciousness in the English language to the Western world—a mission Prabhupada would eventually fulfill with divine determination.
